VACATION!!!

Yup, that's right, vacation!! My shop will be closed until August 10th. All orders placed from August 2-10 will be shipped out on Monday August 11th. At least I got to see these bloom before we go away!!

Speaking of Pitchers.

Here's a new one...I know I said this glaze was too dark...but there's something about it I really like. It doesn't work on everything, but I knew it would look great on this pitcher, so I made a small batch. I figured I'd keep a bit on hand for when I made a piece that need it. The color on this one is so striking...much more in person than in my photo. I just posted it in my Etsy shop along with a green chick. The very first chick bowl with my new and improved green.

It's about 90º today and sooooooo humid. I went to buy some plants this morning and almost died in the greenhouse. At least I had the place pretty much to myself (because no one else was dumb enough to go there in this heat) and had free range over all the plants. I wanted to plant some flowers but when I came home it started to rain...and thunder. The studio is super cool thanks to the cement floors and small windows, so I did manage to get quite a bit of work done. Now I'm in an allergy medicine haze and too tired to do anything. Guess I'll spend the afternoon making garden tags...

Here they are.

Gray porcelain, white slip, black eyes. On the inside we have some new colors, although they all look different over the gray clay. A pale, lime-y green, grayish-blue (or bluish-gray), candy pink, yellow (which looks kind of green on the gray), turquoise and periwinkle (which I am officially out of!). I posted the turquoise dish this morning.If you are interested in any of these and they aren't posted, just shoot me a message. I have a ton of work in the studio now and I can't post it all at once! Besides, there's gardening to be done...

Thinking spring.

I don't really have anything to report. Firing a glaze kiln tomorrow. Again, mostly special orders. I was on a bit of a pitcher/creamer kick last week. I have 4 in this load. All larger than a creamer but too small to really be a functional pitcher...I don't know what I was thinking. I mean I do want my work to be used, but it goes back to what I said about certain forms working better at certain sizes. Anyway, other than that, I still hate winter. So here are a few spring time pretties...
